Printmaking in the Landscape
Course designed specifically for younger artists!
Two Mornings Thursday 26th and Friday 27th
Etching techniques have a magic all their own that students of all ages can get their teeth into. In this short workshop designed for younger experimenters in the arts, we will be playing with drawing techniques, looking for things lurking in the landscape of Wild Valley Gallery, and drawing them in as many ways as we can think of. The drawings will then be developed as dry point etchings and mono prints. Using water-based etching inks makes this a toxic –free technique that everyone can have a good time with and end up with a collection of fantasy landscape images.
Recommended Age 7-13
Liz Powell is an exhibiting artist working in mixed media and fibre for the past 20 years. Much of her work is based around her handmade paper. Being a paper addict led her to making books, experimenting with 3D and print making (in a non-toxic way). Overall, Liz likes to push techniques to the edge, and believes that at the end of the day, making should be fun!
