Saturday 22nd and 23rd November
9am-4:30pm In this two day course we will be learning the art of line etching in an easy step by step method. This technique has changed very little over the centuries and has been the method preferred by great artists such as Rembrandt, Goya and Picasso when creating original prints.
From the first day you will be taught the theory of etching and over the two days be shown how to prepare plates, apply grounds, transfer your drawings on to the plate and process your plate using the acid biting method. You will be taken through a step by step process of inking and wiping the plate for proofing, preparing hand made papers and finishing with a professionally produced fine art print of your own making.
Andrew has been a professional printmaker and lecturer for over 35 years and has had experience teaching to all levels of student whether beginner or advanced.
